The Abbazia di San Giusto has a rich history that dates back to the 12th century. This ancient Benedictine abbey was originally built as a place of worship and solitude, surrounded by the rolling hills of the Lazio region. Over the centuries, it has witnessed the rise and fall of empires, wars, and cultural shifts, yet it has remained a peaceful haven.
The abbey is known for its stunning Romanesque architecture, with its robust stone walls, tall arches, and serene cloisters. The church itself is a masterpiece, with intricate frescoes and beautiful wooden carvings that have stood the test of time. The surrounding grounds are equally remarkable, offering views of lush greenery, olive groves, and vineyards that stretch out across the Tuscania countryside.
Today, the abbey stands as a symbol of both historical preservation and natural beauty. It provides a tranquil and spiritually charged atmosphere, making it the perfect location for a wedding. The combination of its rich history, serene setting, and breathtaking architecture will create an unforgettable backdrop for our celebration.
There are a few ways to reach the venue, but for the most convenient and flexible experience, we highly recommend renting a car or arranging private transport—especially if you’d like to enjoy the beautiful countryside along the way!
By Air: The closest major airport is Rome Fiumicino (FCO), about a 1 hour drive from the venue. Rome Ciampino (CIA) is another option, roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes away.
By Car: Renting a car is our top recommendation. The abbey is easily accessible via the A12 and E80 highways.
By Train: Trains from Rome Termini or Tiburtina stations go to Viterbo Porta Romana, followed by either a taxi or a local bus to the abbey (30–40 minutes).
By Bus: Direct buses from Rome’s Saxa Rubra station run to Tuscania, followed by a short taxi ride to the venue.
